Huon

Grades 9-12 in 2012

Directors: Glenn and Stelle Carmichael

Hello friends...look at your summer plans, now back to me, now back to you, now back to me. Sadly, your summer isn't as cool as mine, but if you enrol on Huon camp 2012 it could be.
Look down, back up, where are you? You're in a beautiful paddock surrounded by tents and friendly cows. What's in your hand, back to me, I have it, it's a paddle that you will use to kayak the majestic waters of the Huon River. Look again, your paddle is now made of diamonds. Anything is possible when you're on Huon camp.
I'm in a kayak.
Old Huon Spice.

Overview of Huon Camp
Campers who attend Huon Camp will experience 6 days in the beautiful Huon Valley, tenting in a private campsite located at the intersection of the Russell and Huon rivers. Our qualified kayak instructors will start you off in the Huonville pool, teaching basic kayaking skills including how to get and out of a kayak, as well as basic strokes. From there, each day will be spent paddling a different section of the river. The leaders will build your skills from flat water up some excellent grade II white water rapids. We will also have many other activities throughout the week including wide games, reflections about God, circus skills and our middle day extravaganza. If you have the survival skills of Bear Grylls, the artistic flair of the Renovators and the culinary expertise of Matt Preston - this is for you! Huon is an amazing week with friendships formed that will last a lifetime. With very limited numbers you need to book early to ensure your place.
